Canterbury Buddhist Group We are a friendly, open and welcoming group. We invite you to come along to any one of our meetings. You do not have to be a Buddhist, some of those who attend, come for their interest in meditation. All are welcome. Meditation instruction and guidance is given each week and there will be a short talk on an aspect of the Buddhas teachings. Each week we practice one of two meditations; The Metta Bhavana Practice, is a meditation practice which helps us develop Metta or kindness for ourselves and others. It encourages us to be more accepting and forgiving of ourselves and aids us in transforming resentment, anger and hatred. The Mindfulness of Breathing Practice, is a meditation practice which aids and helps us develop awareness of our mind, our motivations and our actions. It enables us to become fully awake to ourselves.
